Department of Pharmaceutical Botany
General Information about the Program
Department of Pharmaceutical Botany was established in 1981. Since 1968 Pharmaceutic Botanic and Applications lesson has been taught in our faculty. 4 professor, 1 assistant professors, 1 lecturer and 1 research asisstant are currently working at the department. The principal research areas are identification of medicinal, toxic and beneficial plants based on taxonomy, drugs derived from medicinal plants, their effects and effective compounds; biological activities of medicinal plants; morphological and microscopic analysis of herbal drugs, anatomical and morphological characteristics, distribution of plants in the flora, economic values and traditional uses of medicinal plants.
