General Information about the Program
The Department of International Relations at Anadolu University offers an MA degree (with thesis) in International Relations. The program provides students with the necessary historical, theoretical and methodological knowledge of International Relations. The major aim of the program is to enhance students with analytical and critical skills that allow them to examine the basic questions of International Relations and explain and compare main political and historical developments in world politics. In the first year, students are required to attend courses such as International Organizations, Theories of International Relations, International Law, and International Relations Research. They also choose elective courses in a wide range of topics including American Foreign Policy, Human Rights, World History, Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution, International Social Justice, International Historical Sociology, Middle East, Russia and Central Asia, and the European Union. Finally, students who wish to earn an MA degree must prepare and defend an MA thesis under the supervision of a faculty member.

MA graduates can be employed in public and private sectors, international organizations, NGOs, international companies, media and academia. The major destination of graduates is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other state ministries. They can also apply for Ph.D. degrees in any field to continue their academic careers.
