General Information about the Program

Art is an indicator of the development of society, and it can exist and survive only in environments where the society reaches cultural satisfaction. In this sense, our master's and proficiency in arts programs aim to contribute to the development of students, encouraging their creativity.

Proficiency in arts program in sculpture responds to the wishes of the students who would like to get a comprehensive education with the researches in the field of culture and art, as a result of contemporary art within the framework of art and human relations. The students of the proficiency in arts program, who can use the knowledge gained in the field of sculpture professionally, create art with the methods and techniques he/she acquired in the program, and continues to develop these methods and techniques.

With the post-graduate programs, the Department of Sculpture aims to educate staff proficient in the field of sculpture. Students with a degree in sculpture can work as a free sculptor and a researcher in this field. In addition, if they get a teaching certificate, they can work as a teacher. Graduates also may work in decorative sculpture, and accommodate requests for relief purposes, special workshops, or work in different sectors as a designer. Stage and jewelry design are other work areas. In addition to these, by fulfilling specific requirements, they can be employed in higher education institutions.

The department of sculpture, which aims to enable the students to achieve an original style while transferring design to the material and to express what they want to say with their own art view, offers the opportunity to experience the innovations and current approaches brought by technology as well as the traditional materials and methods used in the art of sculpture.

Our workshops, renewed in 2013, have suitable conditions in terms of ventilation and work safety. In stone, metal, wood, jewelry, basic sculpture, anatomy, polyester and bronze casting workshops, our students are provided the equipment and materials suitable for every technique, with the opportunity to realize their designs without worrying about the cost.
