General Information about the Department
Distance Education Non-Thesis Graduate Program in Mathematics Education is a graduate program within the Department of Mathematics and Science Education of the Graduate School of Educational Sciences. The aim of this programme is to develop mathematical skills of mathematics teachers and individuals who are interested in this field so that they can practice their teaching effectively. The program also intends to provide the necessary knowledge and skills that would enable them to follow and implement national and international developments in mathematics education.Thus, it aims to contribute to the individual and academic development of the program students as well as to further increase and disseminate scientific culture and knowledge. The program includes 10 courses for both content knowledge and pedagogical content knowledge, besides research ethics, methods and techniques. A student must complete at least 10 courses with not less than 60 ECTS credits and a term project, and must have a grade of at least YT, CC or above from all courses taken, and a GPA of at least 2.50 out of 4.00 to finish the program successfully.
