General Information about the Department
The aim of the Aviation Management undergraduate program is to train human resources qualified enough to work in functional departments such as, marketing, accounting, finance, operations management, compliance monitoring and safety management of companies operating in aviation fields such as airline, ground handling, airport, catering etc. The program has 44 courses with a total value of 240 ECTS. These consist of courses on business management areas such as management, accounting, finance, statistics, marketing, communications, and areas in aviation such as airline management, airport management, operational planning in airline businesses, flight performance, meteorology, air traffic rules and services, aviation safety, aviation security etc.
In order to enter the program, it is necessary to get enough score on the central higher education institutions exams (Transition to Higher Education Exam, Undergraduate -Placement Exam) administered by ÖSYM or on the Selection Exam for Foreign Students (Anadolu-YÖS). All courses in the program are given by distance education methods.
In order to graduate from the program, a student is required to successfully complete the designated program of courses, get minimum 240 ECTS credits in total, achieve a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00, and have no FF, DZ or YZ grades.
Career Opportunities
Aviation management graduates can find jobs at almost every level in the aviation industry, primarily in airline, airport and ground handling companies. In addition, they can work as aviation experts in public institutions such as the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, General Directorate of State Airports Authority and in service units of relevant ministries. They also have sufficient knowledge to be able to work in other business areas such as logistics and tourism or to establish their own business.

Since the Aviation Management undergraduate program is carried out with the open education system, it provides an extremely easily accessible and low-cost learning environment that eliminates time and space limits. Aviation both in Turkey and in the international arena is a rapidly developing economic activity. Regulations on aviation activities are international in nature. Therefore, international adaptation of aviation training is extremely easy. However, the language of the program is Turkish. In addition, in terms of employment requirements in the sector, it is important that there are no problems with health status and criminal record. In order for the graduates of this program to easily participate in global aviation activities, they need to improve their foreign language levels, especially English, through individual studies.
