Character and Value Education Non-thesis MA Program

General Information about the Program

The program aims to provide a large number of people with character and value education in order to gain individual values including physical, intellectual, moral, aesthetic, socioeconomic and political dimensions. Today, the decline in human values poses an important threat to future societies; therefore, it is important to take various measures in order for the education system to reach the goals of raising effective and responsible people. Value education should be carried out in a planned manner in order for individuals who make up the society to acquire various values such as love, respect, tolerance, honesty, justice, and scientificity.

Providing value-added training within the Open and Distance Education System at Anadolu University gives the opportunity to many people to undergo values education. Teachers who receive this training and individuals who work in the public and private sectors will be able to provide effective value education at home and in the institutions they work. It is expected that people who have received this education will directly or indirectly include value education activities, thus increasing social order and creating a society consisting of effective citizens.

The students of the program must complete 10 courses and a term project in two academic terms. In the program, lessons are carried out to provide character and value education within the scope of daily life, various institutions, family environment and to conduct research on these issues. The Character and Value Education by Distance Learning Master's Degree is the first and only program in Turkey.
