Civil Aviation Management Doctorate Program
General Information about the Department
The aim of the Aviation Management doctoral program is to provide the high-quality human resources training required in accordance with the developments in the aviation field. In order to enter the program, it is necessary to have graduate and/or bachelor's degree, to meet the qualification requirements such as getting enough scores on ALES exam, foreign language exam and to have required grade level of graduate degree. The target audience of the civil aviation management doctoral program are academician candidates who have a master's degree in the relevant field, those who are still in academic staff or working in different areas of the aviation sector such as airport, airline, ground handling services, and those who are interested in aviation management.
In the program, there are courses on research design and reporting, management, marketing, human resources, as well as courses such as airline cost analysis, airport planning and management, fleet planning and simulation applications in aviation.
In order for the program to be completed, the students with a master's degree must have succeeded in at least 7 courses, seminar course, Phd qualifying exam not less than 60 ECTS credits and thesis proposal, specialist field course and thesis study not less than 180 ECTS credits.
Students who are accepted with a bachelor's degree must have succeeded in at least 14 courses, seminar course, Phd qualifying exam, not less than 120 ECTS credits, as well as a thesis proposal, specialist field course and thesis study, not less than 180 ECTS credits. It is required to get a letter grade of at least YT, CC or above from all courses. In this program, the student's GPA must be at least 3.00 out of 4.00.
