General Information about the Department
Today international trade has as a constantly changing dynamic structure. This fast and dynamic activity which plays a crucial role in the economic life of the countries and which is trying to adapt to changing technology at the same pace, is also influential in the development of countries and their prosperity. Increasing Turkey’s share in the growing world trade is very important in terms of both development in general, and the development of our country. For this reason, it is important to train qualified personnel in the foreign trade field. The graduates of the Foreign Trade Program will achieve the skills required to work easily in the fields related to foreign trade. Within this scope, they can work in foreign trade related departments of firms engaged in foreign trade, in customs consultancy offices, in foreign trade related public institutions.
Foreign Trade Department was founded within Eskişehir Vocational School in 2001. In the program, students receive theoretical education for three semesters within the scope of the 3+1framework. In the last semester, students are placed in relevant workplaces to give them a chance to practice the theoretical knowledge. Throughout this period students are supervised and monitored by the vocational school (instructors). In addition to this, students are required to complete a 30-day summer term internship.

Graduates of the foreign trade program are equipped with essential skills needed to find a job in foreign trade sector. Hence, there are many job prospects in various firms engaged in foreign trade, custom brokers and public institutions related to foreign trade. Most of the graduates of the program continue their careers as customs brokers and foreign trade experts.
