General Information About the Department

The tourism sector, which has an important place in the service sector, is growing day by day in our country, and its importance for our country's economy is increasing even more. There is a steady increase in the number of people participating in tourism activities in our country and the number of enterprises operating in the field of tourism. Due to this increase, the demand for qualified labor force in the tourism sector, which is already a large sector based on human power, further increased. Purpose of Tourism and Hotel Management Program is to meet the intermediate human power need of the tourism sector; therefore, students are required to acquire necessary knowledge and skills in service, housekeeping, kitchen, front office and human relations.

The program was first established in 1990 and started to teach students in 1991. The program has over 30 years of educational experience and has excellent academic staff. In the program, students receive theoretical education for three semesters within the scope of the 3+1 framework. In the last semester, students are required to complete training at workplaces. This workplace training is planned and organized by the vocational school and this gives students an opportunity to practice the knowledge and skills they have acquired in the theoretical courses. In addition to this educational process, students are required to complete a 30-workday summer term internship.
