General Information About the Department
Journalism graduate school programs provide the opportunity to study the philosophy of sciences in the field of journalism for those who have completed their undergraduate education in the fields of social sciences and communication sciences in general, and journalism, press, and publishing in particular. Students who enroll in the program outside of the field must primarily complete the “difference courses” at the undergraduate level in accordance with the “scientific proficiency curriculum”.
Our program’s main objective is to train high-quality staff members with both a master’s degree and a doctorate degree, who can work at universities in our country that provide education in the field of communication sciences, as well as in all institutions and organizations that require qualified experts in the field of journalism.
For this purpose, the program offers courses for qualitative research methods along with theoretical courses.

Graduates of the department are currently employed in a variety of jobs such as correspondents, reporters, photojournalists, intelligence chiefs, editors, news directors, editor in chiefs, page designers, visual directors, web designers, web publishers, bloggers, social media experts, news cameramen, visual editors, news anchors, radio and television programmers, and documentary producers and directors. Students may also aspire to work in various other fields by taking elective courses from other departments, enrolling in minors or second majors, and gaining expertise in branches other than their own.
