General Information about the Department
The Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations is an interdisciplinary field that includes many branches of social sciences such as social policy, sociology, psychology, labour economics, and labour law and social security law. The department consists of six departments. These are: Social Policy, Industrial Relations, Labour Economics, Labour Law and Social Security Law, Management and Sociology of Work, and Management and Psychology of Work. The Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations examines working life in the light of various disciplines of social sciences, and provides education and training in this direction. In the first two years, more general and common courses offered by various departments of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences are offered. In the third and fourth years, there are courses specific to the department. Department students are also allowed to take many elective courses in the fields they want. The department is located in Yunus Emre Campus, which is the central campus of Anadolu University. It is managed by the head of the department and two vice-presidents within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the Labor Economics and Industrial Relations program have the opportunity to work in many areas of the public and private sectors. Graduates can be employed in Human Resources or Personnel Management departments of enterprises. In addition, graduates of the department can be employed in trade unions and employer organizations as union officer.
