Department of Painting

General Information about the Department

In the Painting Department, which was opened in the academic year of 1991-1992, painting education is carried out in the context of contemporary aesthetics. Painting Department aims to train creative artists with modern and contemporary art education, conceptual and thematic art practices, traditional and classical art understanding and contemporary curriculum that provides significant gains in the production of work, with a focus on raising creative and sensitive artists that support individual improvement.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of the Painting Department can work in all disciplines of the field of art, in areas that contribute to the culture and art environments of our country. Our graduates; in addition to individual artist productions, also can work in galleries, museums, art and design platforms, institutions providing art education and in many fields of plastic and visual arts where image and stage designs are made in the cinema sector.

In addition to painting education with equipped workshops that can meet all kinds of needs of students in the production of artworks and it also provides students with different equipment and skills with wall painting, mosaic and stained glass workshops. Students also take the painting methods in which the relationship between innovative technologies and art education is established, as well as theoretical art lessons, which are at least as important as practical studies in the development of artistic personalities and achieving a contemporary, individual language of expression.
