Department of Russian Language and Literature

General Information about the Department

The Department of Russian Language and Literature started its undergraduate program in 2010-2011 academic year. The language of instruction in the Department is Russian. The Department of Russian Language and Literature is a field of study, which analyses the development of Russian Language and Literature from past to present. By offering to students modern and quality education which aims to bring them scientific research skills, Russian Language and Literature Department opened Russian preparatory class in 2016-2017 Academic Year.

The Department participates in Mevlana and Erasmus Student Exchange Programs for students. Thanks to these programs the university students can continue their education 1 or 2 training periods without loss in the Departments of Russian Language and Literature of the Russian Federation and other countries. As long as the students benefit from the scholarships program, they are awarded in accordance with the conditions of the country.

To resume education, the graduated students may apply to master's degree and doctoral programs.

Alumni of the Department might work in a diverse range of business areas with Russia and other regions of the post Soviet Union. Main fields of business are private institutions preparing students for various exams and other educational institutes, tourism industry, Turkish law offices, foreign commercial firms, government agencies and embassies, press and publishing houses, translation agencies, universities (academic career).

The students of the Department can have an education in double major undergraduate program in another section (History, Art History, Turkish Language and Literature) without entering the transition to higher education exam. In addition, they can study in any Department of the Faculty of Open Education of the University without the entrance exams. Thus they can receive compulsory education in some programs and at the end of education period they can graduate with two degrees. Education in Turkey will give an opportunity not only to study Russian but also get to know Turkish people, culture and language.
