General Information about the Department

Anadolu University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Sculpture started education in 1990. Our department continues to train sculptor candidates with its competent academic staff and expert technicians who are well-known in their field.

The department of sculpture, which aims to enable the student to achieve an original style while transferring design to the material and to express what he/she wants to say with his/her own art view, offers the opportunity to experience the innovations and current approaches brought by technology as well as the traditional materials and methods used in the art of sculpture.

During the 4-year education period, our students will be able to practice sculpture fundamentals, sculpture design, sculpture techniques, drawing and anatomy as well as lessons such as sculpture and environment, computer-aided sculpture design, jewelry techniques and ceramic sculpture; student also increases his/her competence and knowledge of sculpture in the theoretical sense with courses such as sculpture and creativity, mythology and sculpture, art and theory and sculpture after 1960.

Career Opportunities

Our students who graduate from the sculpture department can continue their art production as a professional sculptor, plan an academic career in their field, or have the opportunity to work in various fields such as jewelry design, stage and decor design, digital art industries by blending the skills they have acquired in our department with an area of special interest.

Renovated in 2013 and having suitable conditions in terms of ventilation and work safety; In stone, metal, wood, jewelry, Fundamentals of sculpture, anatomy, polyester and bronze casting workshops, our students are provided with the opportunity to realize their designs without having to worry about cost by providing equipment and materials suitable for every technique.

In addition to Basic Sculpture Education, Drawing, Artistic Anatomy and Morphology, Sculpture Design, Sculpture Techniques, courses like Computer Aided Sculpture Design, Post-1960 Sculpture Art help students to achieve contemporary art theories and techniques.
