General Information about the Department
The Social work undergraduate program aims to be a program that contributes to science with an approach that adopts national and universal values by prioritizing the needs of the country, contributing to the development of social justice and human welfare for sustainable human and social development. In this context, the social work undergraduate program is an economic, social, cultural program that develops beyond the control of individuals, families, groups and communities in the environmental conditions in which they live. While training competent social work pioneers with modern and universal knowledge, the department aims to carry out educational research activities based on interdisciplinary cooperation with the philosophy of lifelong learning. Our approach is adopting national and universal values in the prevention and solution of problems and demonstrating the power of social policies and institutions complied with scientific, professional and ethical principles.
In order to train social service experts in accordance with this vision and mission; Our department has one professor, two associate professors, two doctor lecturers, one lecturer and one research assistant.
Career Opportunities
Students who graduate from Social Work departments are employed basically in public institutions and organizations; institutions and organizations belonging to local governments; universities; institutions and organizations belonging to the private sector; They can be employed in institutions and organizations belonging to non-governmental organizations, as well as take part in various projects.
In addition, students who graduate from social service departments can be employed in public institutions and organizations in kindergartens, affection homes, retirement homes, and rehabilitation centers, women's shelters affiliated with the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services. Furthermore, students can be employed in special disabled care centers and private nursing homes within the scope of private institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services.
Within the Ministry of Health, the graduates are employed in hospitals, hemodialysis centers, oral and dental health centers, family medicine, family health centers, cancer early diagnosis, screening and training centers, substance addiction treatment centers, child adolescent treatment centers, child development centers and health services at home. They are employed by the Ministry of Justice in juvenile courts, family courts, probation and aid centers, penitentiary institutions and children's education houses. Within the Ministry of Interior, they can be employed in child branch offices, disaster and emergency management presidency (afad), and immigration management. They can be employed within the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Lastly, they can be employed in national and international social responsibility projects with organizations such as the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF), the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNCHR), United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and the Kızılay.
