General Information about the Department
Anadolu University State Conservatory Musical Instrument Construction Department started its education in 2000 with the strings instruments. The department, which gave its first graduates in the 2004-2005 academic year, provides 8 semesters of undergraduate education. The Program in Instrument Making and Repair has been developed in accordance with today's technological standards in line with the programs of international instrument making institutes and production schools in order to provide contemporary education in an original and sophisticated model, and has been renewed over time. Studies in the department are strengthened by international relations, without staying away from technological developments and researches in our world. Working in the workshop and scientific research conditions are constantly being improved and regulated with new designs, with technical materials and equipment at European standards. As a result, our students develop their knowledge-skills, aesthetics-perception, interpretation-analysis and creativity skills together with the cultural and scientific structure, which are one of the basic disciplines of instrument making.
The department, which continues to work with a traditional education approach, updated its program in 2016 with the addition of courses such as "Musical Instrument Design", "Computer Aided Professional Drawing" and "Marketing in Instrument Making". The department, which has adopted an interdisciplinary education approach especially in recent years, adopts an educational approach that tries to include all current innovations in order to raise awareness and raise awareness of instrument maker candidates at the point where 21st century instrument making technologies have come.
In this context, the department, which attaches importance to the use of new designs and technologies beyond traditional instrument making, has included the use of new technological equipment in its program, especially in terms of improving students' such abilities.
Career Opportunities
Students who complete this section; They can open a private workshop for themselves, find job opportunities in various instrument making workshops, and study in fields such as musicology/ethno-musicology and music technology, in fields such as orgonology and instrument technologies.
