The PhD program at Anadolu University serves academic and clinical competence in subfields of language and speech disorders and gives the title of “Doctor of Philosophy” to students who have received a PhD degree. The development of the Doctoral Program in SLP dates from its inception in 2004 to the present.
Following the graduation from MSc degree (with thesis) in the field of SLP, prospective students can apply for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in Speech and Language Therapy. The Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA), Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES) and English proficiency scores are required for the admission. The PhD program typically extends for eight academic semesters with required credits; in which students should take at least seven advanced courses and Clinical practicum courses in SLP, assist a course in the undergraduate curriculum, and attend research seminars organized during the academic year on a regular basis. The students should take the PhD Qualifying Exam before the end of 5th semester, and prepare an independent thesis that will help them achieve their academic goals. Students are expected to have a significant impact on the discipline by conducting a research thesis to increase our understanding of communication disorders.
