Geographic Information Systems
The objective of Program in Geographic Information Systems is to train human resources equipped with knowledge of basic principles, strategies and techniques of geographic information systems (GIS) and spatial data management, which play a role in decision making in public and private institutions, and analytical-thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
This program aims to respond to the increasing need for personnel specialized in geographic information systems in the public and private sector. Qualified personnel will enable particularly public institutions to make use of technologies more effectively, and thus technological infrastructure on which organizations spend millions of dollars every year will not remain inactive. Furthermore, with more widespread and effective use of these technologies in planning, geology, agriculture and forestry, quality will be improved in these fields.
