General Information about the Department
The Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations is an interdisciplinary field that includes many branches of social sciences such as social policy, sociology, psychology, labor economics, and labor and social security law. The academic programs in this department are Labor Economics and Management and Labor Sociology. The Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations examines work-life in the light of various disciplines of social sciences such as social policy, law, economics, sociology, psychology, and management, and provides education and training in this direction.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the department may work as experts in their own fields and have some general skills they will need in today's rapidly changing world. The graduates find job opportunities in personnel and human resources departments of the public and private sectors, or get a job in other areas where graduates of the faculty work. They can be employed as inspectors or specialist personnel in all public institutions, especially the Turkish Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
