General Information about the Department
The Department of Music at the Graduate School of Fine Arts provides graduate-level studies in all the areas available at the State Conservatory, Music Department. Piano (piano, guitar, harp), Strings (violin, viola, violoncello, contrabass), and Winds and Percussion (flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, French horn, percussion) Programs provide international level education of the affiliated instruments, in the area of western classical music. The main goal of the department is to train knowledgeable and well-experienced artists and academicians, who are artistically and scientifically equipped in the field of polyphonic classical western music. The students in Proficiency in Arts in Music would gain a large perspective of skills/benefits/experience musically and academically.
Career Opportunities
Our graduates often find the opportunity to play at the national symphony and opera orchestras, and receive tenure positions according to the availability provided by the state. They can also teach at conservatories and other music schools, as well as following an artistic career path in solo and chamber music areas. Our graduates also have the chance to continue their studies with masters in their areas through exchange agreements between our university and various internationally acclaimed music schools. Through performing in the symphony orchestra of our university, the Anadolu Symphony Orchestra, students can work with well-known orchestra conductors and soloists, increase their artistic qualities, and experience the dynamics of professional life.
