Program in German Language Teaching - MA

General Information about the Program

The aim of the German Language Teaching Graduate Program is to train academicians in the field of teaching German as a foreign or second language as well as training active German language teachers in research and problem-solving skills, and increase their know-how. Graduates of German Language Teaching, German Language and Literature, and German Translation – Interpreting can apply to the graduate level program in German Language Teaching. There are four professors, one associate professor, and four assistant professors in the Program of German Language Teaching. Graduates from the master’s program are certified as Master of Arts (M.A.).

The graduates of the German Language Teaching graduate program are qualified to undertake academic work in an interdisciplinary field. Furthermore, they can take on upper-level positions in cultural and language training institutes or teach in Germany or abroad. The graduates of this program can work in language courses of private language schools, as an independent employee at Goethe Institutes, as a language assistant at schools, as an instructor at German schools abroad, or as a lecturer at universities.
