General Information about the Department

Mathematics Education Master's Program is a graduate program within the Department of Mathematics and Science Education of the Graduate School of Educational Sciences. The main purpose of the Mathematics Education Master's Program is to train experts and academicians who know the theories, models and scientific research methods related to the field of mathematics education, and have the competence to interpret and apply them. Thus, it aims to train experts in the field of mathematics education who can work at all levels of the education sector, to contribute to the individual and academic development of the students in the program, and to further increase and disseminate scientific culture and knowledge. The program includes various compulsory and elective courses for both content knowledge and pedagogical content knowledge, as well as research methods and techniques. The students of the program are expected to succeed in 7 courses at a minimum, the seminar course, and the research in the area of specialization course on the condition that not less than 60 ECTS credits in total, and the thesis study with not less than 60 ECTS credits, getting at least YT, CC or above from all the courses GPA must be at least 2.50 out of 4.00.
